Leuven – Dec 8th 2011

Office building EXOS, part of the prestigious Kop van Kessel-Lo project in Leuven, has been sold to a Belgian Insurance company. This again shows the success of the urban redevelopment project.  Through its location at the ‘Bovenplein’ EXOS is directly connected to the Central Station of Leuven and the Martelarenplein. It offers 3.650 sqm office space wih parkings, archives and  bicycle storage.  Currently 75% of the office space is let.

CIP considers the sale as another proof that the market for high quality real estate on strategical location remains stable. Hans Goessens, gmanaging director of CIP N.V.: “The Insurance company decided to by EXOS because of the strategical location, right next to the Central Station. The quality of the companies it is curently housing was an extra asset, as were the high standards with which the real estate was developed, reflected by its BREEAM certificat “Very Good”. The companies working from EXOS are RIZIV, DELOITTE and CIP N.V., together assuring a 75% occupation of the office space.” Deloitte Real Estate consulted CIP N.V. during the selling of EXOS.

The sale marks yet another mileston in the success story of the Kop van Kessel-Lo. By the end of November all appartments in City Square were sold. That same month, the Park Inn hotel opened its doors. Both the Park Inn and ETAP hotel situated within Kop van Kessel-Lo have seen flying starts with high room occupation directy after they opened. The state of the art meeting and congress facilities that Park Inn is offering turns out to be so popular that the staff can hardly keep up with demand.
